Happy 2026!
The energy I'm bringing into a fresh new year.
Hello and welcome to the very first post of 2026! Next week, paid subscribers will receive a recipe for the butternut squash side dish that I perfected this holiday season. As always, browse previous posts here, and check out my newly refreshed portfolio here. Thanks for being here!
I am a lover of Mondays. A fresh new week, ready to be lived and worked and everything else? Sign me up. Being that January is the Monday of the months, yesterday was a big day for me: the first Monday of a whole new year.
I am in my element: I have a new notebook, fresh calendar, and hot coffee on my desk. I’ve done all of my goal setting and manifestation and vision boarding. I’ve had the last two weeks off from taking photos—I only picked up my camera 1.5 times!—and I feel a little bit Leslie Knope-ish in how excited I am to dive back into photography and this newsletter and everything else.
Part of my giddy planning involved thinking about this newsletter. I am eternally grateful that you all continue to show up and read what I have to say, so I wanted to let you know my plans for this year:
You can continue to expect one post from me a week, hopefully on Tuesdays.
Every other post will be behind a paywall, and that post will feature a well-tested, photographed recipe. Someone asked me recently why I choose to keep that content behind a paywall, and here’s the truth: it’s the most expensive work I do. Buying ingredients, taking the time to develop and test recipes, and producing a photo shoot to capture them is a big investment. Paid subscribers allow me to continue that work, which I greatly appreciate.
Occasionally, there will be sponsored posts that allow everyone to access these recipes. (If you are someone who wants to sponsor a post, please reach out!)
I also wanted to ask you, my (growing!) community of readers, what you’d like to see from Page & Plate this year. Feel free to weigh in via the polls below. Don’t see an option but want to hear more about it? Reply to this email or leave a comment below!
Things I’m Excited About This Month:
My husband’s new business venture (a golf simulator in Kansas City) is opening! We spent Betwixtmas there working on the space, and it looks amazing.
I’m venturing out West to attend the Winter FancyFaire in San Diego. These food conferences are always such a fascinating way to forecast what’s coming down the line from our favorite food brands. Let’s just hope it’s not more protein.
Emily and I are headed on a big exciting research trip soon. Where are we going, you might ask? Check out the newly updated calendar of events on Kitchen Sink Studios for a hint!
See you back here next week! Thanks for being a part of Page & Plate 2.0.
